Permanent magnets

High quality optimized magnets for your products

Sintex supplies the following types of magnets:

  • Ferritte magnets (SrFe)
  • Polymer Bonded Neodymium magnets (NdFeB)
  • Sintered neodymium magnets (NdFeB)
  • Encapsulated magnets
  • Samarium cobalt magnets (SmCo)
  • High End magnets for Particle Accelerators (IP-NdFeB)

At Sintex, we offer a wide range of coating options which protects the magnets and ensure high corrosion resistance. Our polymer-bonded neodymium magnets are internally produce, while we source other magnets such as: sintered neodymium, sintered ferrite, polymer-bonded ferrite and sintered samarium cobalt magnets from third parties – for the production of our magnetic systems and direct resale. All magnets are manufactured or sourced based on customer drawings/sketches.
Furthermore, we also offer a range of coating options which protect the magnets and ensure high corrosion resistance.

The quality and magnetic properties of the products are ensured as we resell, why Sintex is responsible for auditing and logistics. Due to many years of experience in this area we are able to offer everything from simple gripping magnets to technically complex magnets – with or without coatings.

Surface treatment

For special applications, e.g. in the event of direct contact with water, it may be necessary to apply a surface treatment to certain types of magnets. We provide different options for surface treatment such as nickel, zinc and epoxy, or alternatively complete enclosure in stainless steel.

Applications

The potential applications for magnets are endless, but the most common include:

  • Motors
  • Couplings
  • Sensors
  • Holding systems
  • Loudspeakers and microphones

We ourselves use permanent magnets for our magnetic systems, couplings, rotors and other magnetic subcomponents.

Specification of magnets

Magnets are characterized by a number of properties, the most important when specifying a magnet are:

  • Magnetic properties such as remanence Br, coercivity Hcb, intrinsic coercivity Hcj and, if applicable, max. energy product (B·H)max.
  • Dimensions and tolerances.
  • Retaining power, if applicable.
  • Maximum and minimum operating temperatures and working temperature, if applicable.
  • Area of application – e.g. aquatic environment.
  • Requirements concerning surface coating.

The table below shows the strengths and weaknesses of selected properties for different types of magnets.

Advantages of the polymer-bonded NdFeB magnets made by Sintex:

  • The component is pressed in a single process
  • High mechanical strength
  • 4-6 times stronger than traditional magnets
  • Greater power at reduced volume
  • Increased efficiency of your system
  • Long service life
  • High operating temperature
  • Opportunity for eco-friendly and cheaper production with no epoxy
