| The prices of the rare earth metals have been and are still sky rocketing, which means that our buyers of rare earth magnets are facing unstable buying conditions – The same unstable buying conditions as we as magnet producer have on the rare earth metals. | ||
The tonnage price for Neodymium (Nd) metal has increased about 400% during the last months. The reasons for this development in the rare earth metal prices should be found in a shortage in supply because of regulations and also in the increase in the use of rare earth metals for production in China. Chinas State Council has issued a national guideline that aims to promote sustainable and healthy development of the country’s rare earth industry. This includes closing of mines and thus shortening of supply. The guideline is posted on the central government’s website www.gov.cn At Sintex a/s we closely monitor the situation, as the rest of the rare earth industry, but we can not predict the development of the prices. Our suppliers offer us daily prices – no price agreements – which means that we have to do the same to our customers. As stated in our offers, please use any price offers we supply as price indicators. For further information contact our sales department – we will do our best to answer your questions. | ||
